I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: OTRians

March 10th, 2014
In less than a month, I’ll be participating in an event held in conjunction with the St. Baldricks Foundation. For those of you who don’t know, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a great cause that collects donations to fund childhood cancer research.
No, I won’t be shaving my head. I’m not courageous enough to do that. Instead, I’ll be dyeing part of my hair periwinkle in honor of my late grandfather who passed away as a result of esophageal cancer, six months ago today.
The periwinkle ribbon also represents several other causes: eating disorders, stomach cancer, and pulmonary hypertension.
My goal is to raise just $200. With your help, I’ll reach, and hopefully exceed, my goal. Every cent counts.
Thanks, Alex

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
