I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
Sigma Pi
finally! I've signed up to raise money for St. Baldrick's, which funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the US government. I'm shaving my head on behalf of any girl whose battle with cancer is plagued by the thought that without hair, they will not be society's idea of "beautiful". After having several immediate family members affected by cancer, I've been dreaming of being apart of Saint Baldrick's since high school and I'm excited to announce that in less than a month I'll be bald. I came to Radford and met and quickly befriended an amazing girl who helped me acclimate to university life. Without her I would have never been able to stomach another semester. After she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, I solidified my decision to brave the shave to support her and other girls in her position and to remind them that bald is beautiful! Please look at my page and take the time to donate whatever you can, even if it's just a few dollars. It just takes a few minutes and a little compassion to make a difference. Thank you!
