I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Markit 24 Hour Global Shave

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Markit 24 Hour Global Shave

I am no stranger to the head-shaving solidarity move. When my dad got a brain tumor, he had to have his head shaved for his many surgeries. The radiation also made his hair fall out, so I shaved my head to match his. I'm planning on shaving my head again in solidarity with children with cancer, and I am hoping to raise a little money for the cause, too.

Just like last year, I will try out the NPR fundraising methods. I will be running two challenges this year:

  • The first $300 donated to me I will match dollar-for-dollar.
  • If I receive donations of at least $20 from 20 different people, I will donate an additional $100. For a benchmark, last year I received donations of at least $20 from 15 different people.
  • If my total donations (excluding my own matching) reach $1000, I will add in an additional $100. For comparison, I raised $960 last year (excluding my own money).

In summary, I am putting up $500 of MY money. Please help out this worthy cause.
