I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
I was introduced to this cause many years ago by my high school lacrosse coach, Vinny Garrison. His commitment and efforts were contagious and I've been in support ever since. I was blessed to be a young healthy child. Sports have always been a big part of my life and those experiences as a young kid helped shape who I am today. When I initially got involved with St. Baldrick's day I couldn't help but reminisce all those childhood memories. I then tried to think about how I would of handled being diagnosed with cancer during those great young years.
I can't begin to imagine the fight and determination these young children posses on a daily basis. They are an inspiration to me and I admire their strength.
