I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Thanks for helping me raise funds for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Your generous donation will go toward life-saving research to help Conquer Kids' Cancer! I am being shaved in memory of my cousin Jaime. --- Jaime Lyn Scott was a typical 8th grader when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She was the oldest of three sisters, she loved to play basketball, the piano and clarinet and she had a beautiful spirit. After undergoing surgery, receiving radiation and chemotherapy, Jaime thought she was on the road to wellness. She was then diagnosed with leukemia at the end of the 10th grade. Her three year illness was a mixture of trials and tribulations but it also contained a lot of fun and wonderful memories. Jaime died from complications following a bone marrow transplant. Because of her illnesses, Jaime became a special needs student and she became fully aware of the challenges special education students face each day. Before she died she expressed her desire to have a scholarship established in her memory to help special education students at her high school meet the challenges of pursuing post-secondary educational opportunities. Since her death fifteen scholarships have been presented to help graduating seniors who exemplify the spirit in which the scholarship was established, the spirit exemplified by Jaime - the spirit of the unknown, the spirit of unlimited possibilities, and the spirit of never giving up. In the years of 2010, 2011 & 2012 you helped me raise $2270 for this great organization! Thank you for supporting me (again)! Love & Peace, Gayle
