I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

This is not just some pre-written piece of nonsense that just promotes the event. No, this is the true story of someone who just cares enough to go out and make a difference because, you know, life is about the little things. I took my luck with signing up for St. Baldrick's when I was a sophomore in high school. I heard about it through my local barber, who I will never forget. I've been going to them every now and then since I moved to Crystal Lake before grade school. Maybe you've heard of them? They are Joe's Barbershop in downtown Crystal Lake. Anyway, over at South High School, I wasn't sure as to what I was getting into. I was an introverted and had social anxiety that turned me into a hermit every time I came into contact with someone. This event changed it all. For some reason, doing this every year feels like an annual flu shot. It's scheduled in my mind and I know it has got to happen. But as well as promoting my well being, this event mainly helps the kids that are in trouble. That is the seven letter word that nobody wants to hear. It's true though. Through this event, kids around the globe are getting the attention they deserve. They are getting treatment and adding another milestone to finding the cure and destroying the disease. It's through my five consecutive years and you're support. Hey, and besides, it is a free haircut!
