I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

I spent four years volunteeering in the pediatric hematology and oncology clinic at hasbro children's hospital (the tomorrow fund) and three years at camp dotty, a cancer camp for children and their siblings ages 3 to 8. These experiences, relationships and interactions profoundly and deeply influenced my life and my connection to childhood cancer and these patients. I was deeply impacted by the strength, dignity, courage, insight, empathy, grace, compassion, patience, wisdom, truth, integrity and unconditional love I bore witness to during my time in the clinic. I feel so humbled, honored, and grateful to have met some of the most inspiring and special children as well as their families. I believe it was a gift to have met folks affected by, and committed to finding a cure for childhood cancer. I firmly believe I am a better human, friend, wife, mother, and daughter because of the wisdom, truth, integrity, and fear shared with me by these children and their strong, yet terrified parents, and not without mention! the committed and passionate staff I encountered at the clinic I now pledge to shave my head, both in solidarity with all of the children who, without choice, are hair-free, and to encourage you to donate to help research a cure for childhood cancer, because no child should have to face the fear of cancer, and no family should have to face the uncertainty and fear of childhood cancer. The decision to shave my head does not come without pause, but my commitment to this cause and these children is unwavering, and I hope it inspires you to donate much as I have been inspired to aid in the race to find a cure. Please help me to help children affected by cancer and those who love them by donating to St. baldricks! Stacey
