I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you! The above statement automatically generated by the St. Baldrick's website says it all. I don't have a personal story to share, but there are millions of kids fighting cancer each day and while it doesn't seem fair it's reality. It breaks my heart to see pictures, hear stories and I can't image the grief parents go through witnessing their brave children fight this terrible disease and not be able to control or help the situation. Several friends have participated in St. Baldricks in the past and last year when Mick (I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning his name) participated I decided I too had to do something. Since that time I've been letting my hair grow (in hopes of getting more donations) and will not get it cut until March 29th, 2014. I don't have kids of my own but I do have nieces, nephews and friends with children and thankfully they're all healthy; so this is my opportunity to reach out beyond my circle and make a difference. I have a modest fund raising goal but hope to go above and beyond the goal with your help. THANK YOU!
