I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Rink Rats

Hello! Me and my fellow hockey teammates have joined the St. Baldrick's Foundation and formed a team called Rink Rats. For those of you not familiar with St. Baldrick's, it is a completely volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

On March 22nd at American Legion Post 1977 in New Lenox, Illinois, Team Rink Rats will have our heads shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer; but more importantly, to raise money to find cures for childhood cancer.

This year I am shaving my head in honor of a special friend -- Samuel (a/k/a Bom Bom) Tavolino -- who is the grandson of one of my Mom's co-workers. Bom Bom was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) in April 2012 at the age of 4 1/2. Over the past 11 months, Bom Bom has fiercely battled this horrific disease and is currently in remission!!!!!!!! Bom Bom still has 2 1/2 more years of chemotherapy, but with his determination and spirit, he will WIN this battle and overcome ALL! My message to Bom Bom... keep fighting little man! You CAN do it!

I'm asking you to please help support me and my fellow teammates with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation to find a cure for childhood cancer. Donations can be made online, by phone, or by mail. Your donation -- no matter the size -- will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support and PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE BOTTOM OF MY PAGE TO SEE PHOTOS OF BOM BOM, AS WELL AS LAST YEAR'S ST. BALDRICK'S EVENT. (IF YOU HOVER OVER THE PHOTO, YOU CAN READ THE CAPTIONS -- PRETTY COOL!!)

Thanks again! Josh Maloney
