Cancer touches many people in many ways. I have known friends with Cancer and have seen the struggle that they have gone through fighting this horrible disease. In January of this year, it hit closer to home than anyone could have ever imagined. My wife's brother, Michael, was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic cancer in late 2012. We fought with him for over 4 months before it took in from us a few months ago in January. I have participated in this event for a few years and it has always meant something to me, but now it is different. I have seen the face of evil and even though Michael was only 38 when he was taken their are so many more fighting today that are far younger than him. As a parent I could never comprehend what they are going through, but am trying to do my part to ensure that someday this diagnosis will have a better outcome than it does today.
I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
