On April 13th, I will be participating in this St. Baldrick’s day event at Schaffer’s in Port Jefferson. With respect for my family & friends who have struggled with childhood cancer I will be shaving my head in order to raise money for the research & awareness of childhood cancer. This disease has specifically affected my mother & my friends baby sister Maddie. Their stories are what ultimately led me to partake in this event. Little Maddie was in 1st grade when doctors found a tumor behind her eye. This beautiful little girl could have gone blind , or worse. But thanks to the selfless efforts of her doctors, she has made a full recovery and is now a happy & health 5th grader. Additionally, my mother fought a rare form of cancer as a young child. She was very sick as her body dealt with massive amounts of Chemo. After completing a year of chemotherapy the doctors told them she was no longer in remission, the cancer was back , and would have to start treatment again . After battling for 2 more years she overcame the disease but not without life changing effects. In memory of their struggles & those of the millions of children currently fighting cancer, I ask you to please donate, however big or small, to this noble foundation.
I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
