So, here's the deal. Cancer sucks. We all know that. But cancer research dollars have declined significantly over the last decade, and high quality research institutions with very promising discoveries are facing a funding gap that could mean the difference between effective, life-saving therapies and the deaths of far too many children.
As most of you know, I lost my mother, Ann Wallace Edwards (McCroskey) Ivins, to cancer 7 years ago. Every single day I ask myself dozens of times "What would Ann do in this situation?" Well, the answer to the question about what she would do to help bridge this critical funding gap is that she would DO SOMETHING. So, here I am, doing SOMETHING.
I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids.
