I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: The Church Of Holy Apostles

You may be wondering why I joined the Holy Apostles St. Baldrick’s Community Shave team, especially in the middle of winter. Could it be because I was tired of bad hair days in the wind, rain and snow? No, actually I have a lot more personal reasons. I have thought about doing this each year since my own bout with cancer, but this year is the year that I truly feel called to do this. Several friends and family are currently dealing with this disease; a good friend in Arizona, a young niece and mother of two, the spouse of a staff person, a woman who has been a spiritual example for me, one of Jerry’s brothers. All of these were diagnosed within a couple of months of each other. March will also be my 3 year anniversary of being cancer free. We all know and love someone who has had, or will have, cancer. Please support our team in any way you can. You could save a life through your money donated to childhood cancer research. www.stbaldricks.org/teams/mypage/82878/2013 or call (888) 899-2253. Blessings to you and your family.
