Hello Again Family & Friends,
This is my third year as a shavee!! And my first as team captain for my school!! I am always proud to show off my newly shaved head for St Baldricks Foundation and help kids fight cancer. On March 15th, I will be shaving my head again.
I formed a team at my school - Burr Intermediate School, I'm glad I did because we didn't have one. My mommy is helping me reach out to the principal, assistant principal and the PTA so we can make parents aware of the team and get more children to join my team. I will also be speaking to my classmates and cub scout friends to tell them how important it is to get involved. It’s really not so bad to shave your head. Your hair grows back so quickly.
If you remember, last year, I shaved my head for Izabella Green who was only 18 months old when she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in her eye called Retinoblastoma. She lost her right eye and was fitted with an artifical eye. My neighbor used to baby sit for her and we have not seen her because her mommy now stays with her all the time. We hear she is adapting very well to the artificial eye. She’s almost 2 ½ years old. We pray she continues to do well. I am shaving my head for her again.
My goal last year was to raise $500. With the support from my wonderful family and friends, I raised $920. Wow!! Thank you all! I am raising my individual goal to $1,000 since I’m starting my campaign a little earlier and trying to reach out to more people.
I hope you can all support me again this year. Last year, Commack raised $80,000 and my parents were so proud of me for being a part of the team.
We recently saw a picture of my Aunt Jane and she looks so beautiful with her hair growing out. If you remember, last year I mentioned her name (I know she is not a child - but we love her and wanted to mention her again). I want her to know that we always think of her and are so happy to know she is doing well. We love her very much!
This organization helps children who are fighting cancer. They also raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids.
Simply click "Make a donation" to give online. http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/participantid/589902 Scroll down to donor information and follow the prompts.
If you prefer to mail us a check, please make check payable to St Baldrick's Foundation. Be sure to include my participant ID# 589902. To be safe -- please contact my Mommy directly for our home address at mastrocrew@gmail.com Thank you so much for helping me reach my goal.
The event will take place at Commack H.S. on March 15, 2013 - and I am aiming to collect all of my donations by then.
Thank you!
