I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Princess Brooke

I’ve answered the call to be a hero! I’m having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly to raise money to find cures.

I shave because 3 years ago my world fell apart, when a stomach virus led to the discovery that my beautiful daughter Brooke had a rare form of childhood cancer called neuroblastoma. She was just 2 ½ years old at the time. She spent the next 15 days in the hospital going through endless scans, tests and ultimately surgery to remove the tumor and her left adrenal gland. Her surgeon performed a miracle, fully removing the tumor and pathology confirmed there was no spreading. She was diagnosed Stage 1, No Chemo!

Life was able to return to normal for Brooke with the exception of scans every few months. Most children with neuroblastoma, as well as many other forms of cancer are not so lucky. I believe that Brooke and our family have been given a gift, and that all children deserve the same happy ending…a cancer-free life!

Today Brooke is 6 years old and has been cancer-free for 3 years! She loves kindergarten, dancing and dressing up as a princess.

Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation OR join Team Princess Brooke and register to shave with me! Thank you!
