My kids Hannah (8) and Aaron (6) asked me if I would help kids with cancer. My immediate response to them was "of course", figuring I would donate to whatever charity they had learned about, or assist them with a project, whatever they wanted me to do. Well, they got me. On Thursday March 8th at 6pm, I will be participating in a St. Baldrick's Foundation event at Bradford's Grill & Tavern here in Stamford. For those unfamiliar with St. Baldrick's, the charity encompasses a number of HEAD-SHAVING events to benefit kids with cancer and funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S government. Now, I know what you are going to say. "Kail, you are bald already, you really aren't showing me much here." And that's true, I am follicly challenged. So let's take it up a notch. One week prior to the event, I will DYE WHAT HAIR THERE IS BLOND. My goal is to look like Guy Fieri, about 100lbs lighter and without the bling.
So come make fun of me (you do anyway) and support the fight against children's cancer. The link to my St. Baldrick's page is below; if you are in CT, I hope to see you at Bradford's on March 8th. And if you want to join the team and shave your head, just let me know. The more the merrier!
