Some people walk or run for cancer, but I'm kind of lazy, so I'll shave my head instead.
But seriously, a few years ago my brother Phillip told me that he was participating in St. Baldrick's, and it caught me by surprise. It's not that Phillip isn't a kind and giving person, he's just not someone I associate with this kind of thing, and neither am I. Yeah, that makes us both sound like jerks, but that's not what I mean. The point is that his actions inspired me to get involved as well. He's my big brother, and that's just the kind of influence he has on me.
So here I am after a year of letting my hair grow. 10 months of needing a hair cut, 8 months of mullet jokes, 6 months of combing every day, 4 months of wearing a hat whenever I can, 2 months of hippie comments, and a couple of weeks of being 'that guy with the ponytail'. I can honestly say that I'm quite ready to be rid of it. But at the same time, I've never used less than the half-inch guard on my clippers.
