I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Friends, Family and Colleagues, I recently shaved my head in solidarity of children who lose their hair during cancer treatment. Cancer is the leading cause of non-accidental death in children in the United States. In fact, more than 12,000 children will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Fortunately, more than 70% of children diagnosed with cancer will now survive, which is a striking improvement over the 5% survival rate less than 50 years ago; however, for the parents of these children, as well as the physicians and others who care for them, these odds are not good enough. I am hoping to raise funds on behalf of the St. Baldrick's Foundation that will be used for grants to find new and better cures for fighting cancer in children. Any amount you can donate, whether it is $1 or $100, is greatly appreciated. Additionally, check with your company to see if they sponsor matching gift programs. Thanks!
