I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Carlo

Did you know that 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year? This year I met one of those children. On Halloween, my new friend Sean, introduced me to his friend, Carlo. Sean was a convict, I wore a zombie costume, and Carlo was dressed up like Iron Man. He was older than me, but much smaller. I learned that it was because he was fighting a kind of cancer called neuroblastoma. I guess it is hard to grow when you have to fight a disease like cancer. Some of us wanted to race from door to door to gather more candy, but we didn't, because we could tell that it hurt Carlo to go up and down all those stairs. It hurt just to walk. That was Carlo's last Halloween. Carlo doesn't have to worry about pain anymore... I'm joining Team Carlo at HKIS, and along with many others I am planning to shave my head to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer. I'm doing it to raise funds for childhood cancer research. I'm doing it for Iron Man!

The St. Baldrick's Foundation partners with organizations around the world to fund childhood cancer research. We must all do everything we can to give kids a better chance for a cure.
