I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
I participate in this charity because like thousands of other people, I have a very personal connection to children's cancer. My niece Maggie was diagnosed with ALL when she was 4. Her family - all 9 siblings plus mom and dad were shocked. Her grandparents, aunts and uncles (all 9 of them + 9 significant others and 12 cousins) were there to support Maggie and her family. Maggie has been successfully treated and is cancer free. Her treatment wouldn't have been possible without all the support cancer research has been given over the years. And in particular the need to help research children's cancers. So I wanted to give something back - and stand in support of Maggie and all the kids like her. Their strength and courage inspires me and hope it will inspire you.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
