I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: The Eddie Allen's

Hi everybody,
My son Eddie and I are having our heads shaved for childhood cancers and I need your support. I lost my daughter Pattie to cancer, my father and my brother-in law also succumbed to this dreaded disease. My daughter-in-law, one of my granddaughters and two nephews are survivors and at this time are cancer free, but the worry that it will return is always present. My son Eddie and I wanted to do this to honor them. We can’t relate to what it feels like to get cancer and only those faced with this horrible disease can. How does a child face this debilitating sickness

My family and I have been involved in raising money for cancer research since Pattie passed away, first with the Pan Mass Challenge and for the past seven years with an organization we started called “Pedalers For A Cure” and hold an annual bike ride on Long Island with the funds raised going to the “Jimmy Fund” of Dana Farber Hospital in Boston, one of the foremost cancer research hospital in the country and where Pattie was treated. We will continue to support this function, but when we see and hear of children fighting cancer, who typically lose their hair during treatment, we want to let them know we stand solidly behind them by having our head shaved and raising money while doing so.

We recently heard of the St. Baldrick foundation which partners with organizations around the world to fund childhood cancer research. We must all do everything to give kids a chance for a cure.
Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. Any amount from $1.00 on up will be gratefully accepted

You can make a donation online by going to St. Baldricks.org. Click on Team and then enter our team name “The Eddie Allen’s”. When the team name comes up click on donation at top right side of display. Follow the directions on the screen. You can make a donation by using a credit card.
