I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Syracuse Firefighters, Family and Friends

I thank God everyday for our two healthy children. Cutting my hair is a very small way to give back... Hair grows back (hopefully). The website mentioned, "Be a hero cut your hair for research" (paraphrased)... However, in my opinion, cutting one's hair is not heroic. The children who have cancer; the parents of children with cancer, and how they cope with this news, this reality, that is heroic! The researchers, the nurses, the doctors who deal with the children in crisis, that is heroic! Cutting my hair is fun, it is entertaining, it is a great fundraising idea, it is to join for a moment in solidarity (in hair only) the cancer patients. I thank God everyday for two healthy children. I pray that cancer does not afflict either of my children. I never want to be a parent of a child with cancer, and have to shave my head in solidarity! If you can, in these extremely trying times, make a small donation. If we all gave a little it would add up to a lot... I shave my head in hope that there will be a cure!

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
