How much are a few grey hairs on the floor worth?
In October 2007, an incredible friend of our family was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma -- brain cancer. The news that 7-year-old Ethan and his family would be facing an uncertain future or even years of treatment and recovery, shook us all to the core.
Through the help of many, and with the courage and determination that many of us will never truly understand, Ethan beat the cancer and is now in remission.
On March 13, I will be shaving my bumpy, misshapen noggin in an effort to raise money in hopes that another child, such as Ethan, can have a chance to conquer childhood cancer. Also, in some small way, I want to show my support with children who had no choice but to lose hair to the ravages that chemo therapy and radiation treatment can inflict.
If you could consider just a small donation my Facebook friends to this cause I would truly appreciate it. Please sponsor me, a teammate or any of those participating in this event. You may also want to become a "shavee" or start your own event in the future. Just go to the above/below link to St. Baldrick's for more info. Here you can make your donation (quite secure) or sign up to be involved.
So how much are a few grey hairs on the floor worth? Immeasurable in the fight against childhood cancer.
A special thank you and plug here to Adam Walker and Berea Coffee and Tea for hosting this event!
