I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research
This is my 5th year shaving my head with St. Baldricks in honor of children with cancer. My 1st year I was only 6 years old. After the shaving event, I went home and looked in the mirror. I was shocked and scared! I thought I looked so weird. By the time I was asked to shave my head the next year I understood more about cancer and children with cancer. I realized not only did cancer change their looks, it was painful and more scary than what I felt after my shaving. So I decided to shave my head again for St. Baldricks. After my 2nd shaving, I wanted to hellp the awareness of children's cancer everyday instead of just during St. Baldricks. So I decided to let my hair grow without 1 haircut for a full year. I had messy hair! Whenever people made comments (my teachers, etc.) I would explain to them why my hair was so out-of-control and long. This helped people learn about children with cancer. I hope you can hlep my raise $$$$ for children with cancer. 100% of the money goes to help them! I & and children with cancer are thankful !
