You heard it right - I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!
Although this is my first year, I set my goal at $1,000. I didn't want to stop there! For those you you checking this out, please donate and let's keep building these pledges.
I appreciate everyone's support so much! Thank you!
My donations are in honor of my new friend Dave's daugther Emily. Emily is 17 years old and lives in North Carolina. She has been diagnosed with a rare form of Ovarian Cancer. She is undergoing treatments and plans on graduating with her class of 2010, then going on to college.
Emily's father writes;
"Children like Emily are an inspiration to their familys, friends and communities, their inner strengths and resolution is amazing to say the least.Their insight into the unimaginable circumstances of diseases like these is humbling to parents like my wife and me. She fearlious and accepting of a future with out guarentees. My daughter has become the teacher, I the student. Its a tough education and a hard pill to swallow for a father..............Jody, I'm finally growing up because of her. In her short 17 years of life she has experienced more than I could have ever imagined and she handled it with-out complaints. Thank You and Your Crew for a Job well done!..................Best Regards Dave"
Here's to you Emily with warmest wishes.
