I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I am a runner. Sometimes I have run for causes and sometimes I have run for fun, and sometimes I've had lofty goals and dreams in mind that I've worked tirelessly for until they were met. But I want to stop for a minute, and I want to ask you to stop for a minute from your busy life, and think about something that is not fun to think about. The possiblilty of losing your child, or my child, or the child of your brother or sister or best friend to cancer. It's horrific to me to think of these things. The fact that they are actual realities to some people is completely unacceptable. There is not a whole lot that I can do about it, but I can do this. I can be willing to let go of the hair on my head in solidarity to these kids who fight braver in their young lives than most of us will ever have to fight. I can be a part of a fundraising event that is dedicated to stopping this terrible disease from stealing lives and breaking hearts. I have personally known 2 people who have lost their children to cancer, and that is too many for me. Help me make a stand against this terrible disease! You don't have to shave your head, I'm more than happy to do that, just support me, even in the smallest way, and support St Baldrick's and let's kick cancer off the planet. I know it can be done if we just don't close our eyes to it or give up! Our children depend on us to protect them, let's do the best we can with whatever resources we have available to us! Thank you, and God bless you!
