I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: LAPD Foothill Division- Team Ryan Compton

You heard it right - I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research! This year, I am shaving my head in honor of my 2 year old son, Ryan, who has endured just over a year of cancer treatment at City Of Hope. Last year, I waited to shave my head until Ryan started losing his hair so we could be bald together. This year, Ryan recently lost his hair again, and I will be shaving my head in solidarity with him. In addition, with the help of the St. Baldrick's Foundation and my Foothill family, I will also be shaving my head to support pediatric cancer research, and I would like to ask you for your help. For all those times you have kindly asked what you can do to help, and for those that have so kindly helped time and time again: I have another favor to ask-- please help me raise money for pediatric cancer research. No donation is too small- every single dollar counts. Most of you know that despite the rigors of chemotherapy, Ryan is progressing fairly well with his treatment. However, there are many other children who are really struggling to survive. For example, there are some children who have to spend over 100 days secluded from the rest of the world in a hospital room because they've had a bone marrow transplant; some who have to undergo multiple painful surgeries; and yet others who cannot tolerate some of the horrendous side effects from their treatment. There are also too many children who have lost their fight with cancer. In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Research is integral to finding more effective treatments for childhood cancer, and necessary for finding a cure. To make a donation, click on "Donate Online" or "Donate by mail or phone." Thank you for your kind support!
