This may sound strange, but I have always wanted to shave my head. This desire is likely a result of riding a bike without a helmet when I was a kid. However, I never got the courage to go for it.
Now, I have a reason, A really great reason. I can go hairless and raise money for childhood cancer research. Many children with cancer typically lose their hair during treatment. I figured, what the heck, I can shave my head and raise critical funds for childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick's foundation.
In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. The St. Baldrick's Foundation hosts the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity with children fighting cancer, requesting donations of support from friends and family. Since the St. Baldrick's Foundation became an independent charity in 2005, it has funded over $16 million in life-saving childhood cancer research for research grants and fellowships - Since 2005, the St. Baldrick's Foundation has funded 13 research fellowships to find a cure for childhood cancer research.
What can you do? Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research. To make a donation, click the "Donate Online" or "Donate by mail or phone." buttons below.
