Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
Because no child should have to fight for a lifetime they haven’t even had the chance to live yet.
What started as a simple challenge among friends 25 years ago has grown into the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m stepping into that movement—joining thousands of others who will shave their heads in solidarity with kids who don’t get a choice when cancer takes their hair, their childhood, and too often, their future.
Here’s the truth that breaks my heart: 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive. And the ones who do? More than 96% will face severe or life‑threatening health issues by the time they’re 50. These kids deserve more than survival—they deserve long, full, joyful lives.
Every shaved head, every lock of hair, every single dollar donated becomes part of something bigger. It becomes hope. It becomes progress. It becomes fuel for the most promising childhood cancer research in the country, funded through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation—the largest charity supporter of childhood cancer research grants.
I’m shaving my head because kids with cancer don’t get to choose their battles.
I’m shaving because families deserve better answers and better outcomes.
I’m shaving because these kids deserve the lifetime they’ve barely begun.
If you choose to support this mission, you’re not just donating—you’re giving hope to real children and real families who desperately need it.
Thank you for caring. Thank you for standing with me. And thank you for standing with them.
