So, many of you know why I do this. My primary reason was always Kathy. She was what I called my “real mom.” The first time I did it, her words rang in my head while she battled cancer. “I know what I’m going through, I can’t imagine and would never wish this on a child.” That put aside, we’ve lost too many to cancer, both adults and children. We recently watched one of our younger ones battle through chemo like a champ and is doing well. Recently, we lost another adult to it. So all I ask is to help us make sure the kids have a better shot at life. If anyone deserves it, they do. They are our future, after all!
Pictured are past Mohawks to have some fun with it. Once we hit goal, we can figure out some fun colors for this one, and go from there!
Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
