Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
This year will be my 6th time shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research with the St. Baldrick's Foundation. I’ve shaved every other year since 2015, growing my hair long enough each time so it can be donated for wig creation once its buzzed.
But this isn’t really about hair.
St Baldricks 2026
Thank you for joining me and donating in the past years. If you haven’t already, I kindly ask you to join me in supporting the kids in this years shave.
I’ve wondered in past shaves if what we do is making a difference, if it’s significant. Then I meet someone affected. In the past year two people I’ve become aquatinted with who have been impacted by childhood cancer reaffirmed the efforts of everyone who works and supports St Baldricks is significant. It’s important to them and makes a difference.
This year I’m shaving in honor of
Christopel
Born June 1986 - on November 20, 1998 he passed from Leukemia.
When his sister Cristine learned I was shaving and donating to St Baldricks she smiled, this is important to her.
The second person I meet this year is an adult who survived cancer when she was a child. She expressed her appreciation for the efforts of St Baldricks. This made a difference to her.
Let’s do this for Christopel and for those who are still affected and impacted by childhood cancer.

Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
