Dear Friends,
It’s rare to know someone who has not been touched by cancer. We’ve lost loved ones and close friends to this disease and watched others go through intense treatments. Cancer affects so many in some way.
We talk to our kids about getting involved in community events, having civic pride and the importance of using their voice to champion awareness in things they believe in. The upcoming Shave for the Brave event on March 13th is a St. Baldrick’s Foundation event. Sponsored by the Emmaus High School Pediatric Cancer Club, our kids started this local club to support and help friends who were battling cancer - with this fundraiser they contribute to St. Baldrick’s, the largest charity that funds childhood cancer research grants. (The statistics around childhood cancer speak volumes - lack of research funds is the greatest obstacle in finding a cure.)
Kids… kids helping each other and taking a stand against cancer. This fundraiser is something these young ones feel strongly about and I’m all about giving them support and showing them that kindness, compassion and love for others only gets stronger the older they get. I’m “shaving for the brave” in the spirit of service and friendly competition to raise much needed funds - at the end of the day, for potential donors it may mean one less dinner out, and for me, it’s just hair, it’ll grow back.
Please consider helping me raise funds. We all need it - Peace, Love, & A Cure.
