Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?
In 2018, our family was introduced to St. Baldrick’s when our oldest son shaved his head to raise money for childhood cancer research. At that time, I don't think any of the rest of us thought to do it, but the experience stayed with us.
Now, years later, our youngest daughter decided to join the cause. Seeing her courage and confidence helped me realize I was ready too. I could do this with her. Together, we will shave our heads and donate our hair in support of children facing cancer — kids who don’t get to choose losing theirs.
Being part of our school’s effort to Conquer Kids’ Cancer feels meaningful to us. This is about more than hair, it’s about courage, compassion, and standing alongside families walking an unimaginably difficult journey.
If this story touches your heart, we would be grateful for your support. Whether it’s $10, $25, or whatever feels meaningful to you, every donation helps fund life-saving research and brings hope to children and families.
A challenge among friends 25 years ago has become the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. This year, I’m joining thousands of others to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
