Why am I shaving my head and why should you care?
It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 18 months since my last shave, which is probably the longest I’ve ever gone without a haircut. That number is meaningful: this marks my 18th year as part of the St. Baldrick’s family, spanning two states, four cities, and five venues, all in honor of sweet angel little Lindsey. Alongside thousands of others, I’m shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research.
This year is extra special: I’m returning locally for the event at Fado’s where they’re celebrating 25 years of supporting St. Baldrick’s on Friday, March 13 from 3–6 PM. I’m proud to be back with this amazing community as we rally for kids and families who need better treatments and cures now.
What began as a challenge among friends 25 years ago has grown into the largest volunteer movement to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. Every event, every volunteer, and every gift helps push research forward.
Why your support matters
* In the U.S., 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer won’t survive. For those who do, more than 96% face severe or life‑threatening conditions by age 50. Your support helps change these odds.
* Each shaved head and every dollar donated creates a ripple effect of progress fueling discoveries, safer treatments, and hope for kids and families.
Where your gift goes
Your donation supports the best childhood cancer research across the country through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants. Together, we can give these kids the lifetime they deserve.
How you can help
* Donate any amount - every single gift makes a difference.
* Share this page to spread the word.
* Check if your employer offers matching gifts to amplify your impact.
* Join us at Fado’s on March 13 from 3–6 PM to cheer and celebrate.
* Follow along: I’ll post updates and photos from the big shave on event day.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with me and with these brave kids. Love and miss you dear Lindsey.
Go Team Lindsey!
