I am shaving my head in honor of my best friend, Katherine McDonnell.
For the past 11 years, Katherine was more than a colleague to me - she was my spirit mentor. She guided me not just in work, but in how to show up with kindness, integrity, and care for others.
There used to be only a one-hour time difference between us. Now, there is only one space between she and me - a space I cannot cross for now, but one that love still fills.
Katherine had a heart for helping others. She gave her time, her energy, and her kindness freely. The world feels dimmer without her in it. But the love and care she inspired in all of us has not left. It continues.
By supporting childhood cancer research, we carry forward the compassion she lived by. We choose to turn grief into purpose. We choose to brighten the sky in her name.
I trust that the light we create here - through generosity, through remembrance, through action - reaches across time and space to wherever she is.
This is for her. Take care, Katherine:)
Did you know, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive? For those who do, more than 96% have severe or life-threatening conditions by the time they are 50.
Each shaved head, every dollar donated, creates a ripple effect of progress for kids with cancer.
Your gift will give kids and their families hope, supporting the best research across the country, through the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
