I am shaving to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Oswego Club Lacrosse

Why am I shaving my head, and why should you care?

I first shaved my head for St. Baldricks in 5th grade at Forts Ferry Elementary school in Latham NY. At the time I didn’t know what it was all about just that I would becoming bald in front of the whole school. I remember at the time being a bit nervous.

When I returned to SUNY Oswego and joined the men’s lacrosse team I found out that they raised money and some shaved every year. I thought back to my younger self and those feelings I felt in elementary school of being nervous to be bald in front of my classmates. And that’s exactly why I have shaved every year since and continue after running out of time to play on the D3 team. This year I hope to raise money with the club lacrosse team at Oswego and continue to wear the bald proudly so hopefully someone else can too.
