In 2016, my godbrother Jack passed away from childhood cancer. It completely devastated his entire community. Every time a child is diagnosed with cancer or passes away from it, this happens to their friends and family and leaves a void in our lives and hearts that can never be filled in the same way again.
I’m raising funds with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to support research that finds cures and safer treatments for all childhood cancers, providing hope for children and families facing this fight.
I remember Jack so fondly, he had a smile and a laugh that would light up a room no matter how many other people or cousins were around him. He was my godbrother, my neighbor, a family friend, a kid that I babysat, and so much more to the many that loved him. The beast that is childhood cancer took him from us far too soon.
I hope that with the funds that I raise that less children and the ones who love them will suffer from the horridness that is childhood cancer.
