Why am I shaving my head and why should you care?
Cancer, unfortunately, whether you have been diagnosed with it or not, has affected us all. Everyone has a connection, some closer than others, with this dreaded disease. Personally, in the last 4 months, I lost my mother and a very close friend—the latter just 41 years old—to different types of cancer. These fights are important—and personal.
As many of you know, St. Baldrick’s is a foundation at the forefront of finding a cure for cancer, particularly through childhood cancer research. I routinely donate to this great cause in hopes of finding breakthroughs with this disease. And I’m asking you to consider giving, too.
St. Baldrick’s has partnered with Kitty Hoynes each year for the last 19 years, shaving close to 7500 heads and raising more than $6.7 million. This year will mark the 20th and final year these two institutions will partner to raise money. I cannot think of a better time to help raise more money for fighting this horrible disease.
What am I asking?
Donations. Please consider donating as I become a shavee to contribute to this essential research that will save children's lives. Ultimately, my hope is one day my two young children will no longer know “cancer” as a scary word and maybe even think of it as a disease of the past.
Together, let’s give these kids the lifetime they deserve. Thank you for your support!
