I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

After returning from my Junior year of college I began experiencing excruciating headaches that pain medication could not fix. After my second trip to the hospital the doctors found a tumor mass behind my frontal lobe in my head the size of a small apple which was causing the pain. After a few days in the hospital to monitor me and flush out the excessive amounts of Advil I had been taking the doctors were ready to operate. It took back to back brain surgeries totaling over 10 hours to remove the mass in my head. Biopsy revealed the mass was a Glioblastoma Tumor, an aggressive and dangerous type of brain tumor. The news was shocking but with a positive attitude I went into treatment headstrong. After my first round of chemo and 6 weeks of radiation it was time for me to decide if I wanted to return to college and finish my Senior year. I decided to do it and continued chemo through my senior year and coming home for scans and doctors. I graduated this past May of 2022 with a degree in Business Administration and a second degree in Business Management, as well as making Dean's List both senior semesters. I have since returned home and am now in remission since this past September. I continue with my scans every three months and continue to keep a positive attitude.Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
