I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Donate 8 inches of Hair

Ethan Toohey is my beloved nephew and today is his birthday. He would be 26 years old. We lost him at the age of 15. He was diagnosed with cancer just before his 10th birthday. Our family got 5 years, much more than was predicted, because of research like that funded by St. Baldrick’s. Precious time and memories of family dinners, holidays and trips to the shore together. Why am I cutting 8 inches of hair with St. Baldrick’s? Because your donation “on my head” will actually save lives and help families make memories. Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever. St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, and the pandemic has slashed donations, slowing down the progress to find cures. Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that, it can save lives and change families like mine. Can you help? Thank you so much! Happy Birthday, Ethan. We love you forever.
