I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: MARCH MADNESS 5

This is my 12th year shaving my head for St. Baldricks and I am so looking forward to shaving in person at Rockville Centre this year, joined by the March Madness team!

But honestly... this isn’t about me...

Please look at the photos of my "honored kids" below -- THEY are what this is about and THEY are why I continue to do this every year. Many are Rockville Centre residents. Some are N.E.D. survivors, some are angels, and some are in the midst of the battle right now.

As a mother and cancer survivor myself, looking at these beautiful children, especially those who are gone from us, the promise of their lives stolen from us all... all I can say is: THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I can't accept this reality and I refuse to accept this reality. Help me change this reality.

When I first shaved for St. Baldricks in 2009, as a newly diagnosed cancer (tonsil) patient, I had two goals -- (1) To become a St. Baldrick's "Knight of the Bald Table" (7 years of volunteering) -- and (2) To raise over $100,000 in ten years... And then as the years went on I also dreamed of (3) having my own St. Baldrick's team. ALL of those goals have become reality, thanks to my many generous and faithful supporters and my awesome "March Madness" team. So from here on in its "all gravy" for me but the fight goes on for the many kids diagnosed with cancer every day, and so I will keep shaving my head every year, helping to raise monies that will be used to fund the most promising research into childhood cancer, its cures, and treatments.

So that when cancer comes knocking on some child's door (like it showed up on my doorstep) they can say "NO! NOT ME! NOT TODAY! HIT THE ROAD, CANCER!" Cancer doesn't ever take a holiday, or go on vacation. It's merciless and unrelenting, and we have to go after it with everything we've got, to wipe it off the face of the earth. So PLEASE I am asking for your support again this year as I continue to "Brave the Shave" to "Conquer Kid's Cancer."

❤️ Thank you for your generous support ❤️
