I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: LSUHSC-S School or Medicine, Class of 2024

This year I began medical school with the intention of pursuing a career that can positively impact people’s lives. Being a first-year student, it is often difficult to see how the hard work will pay off since most of our days are spent staring at computer screens & textbooks, but there are many opportunities to serve others that allow us students to be fulfilled. Geaux Bald, an event/tradition at LSU Shreveport SOM, is one of these opportunities that allows students to raise money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This organization helps conquer childhood cancer by using its donations to fund research into new treatment options to help cure these diseases.
