I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer childhood cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U. S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to do my duty! By shaving my head, as a Palombi Student Council officer, I can raise awareness, and funds for kids suffering this terrible disease. Now I need your support! Your donation can promote research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let's #DFYchildhoodCancers together!

I'm shaving for every child who has endured cancer. I'm shaving for lives upturned. For sisters and brothers and daughters and sons lost. For families overworked and scared. Everyone thinks 'This could never happen to someone I love!' I did too. Until July of 2019, when one of my closest friends, Marisa, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Not only would she endure grueling hours of chemo, but she would become too weak to bowl. She lost her strength, her hair, and her passion. She missed days of school, underwent 8-10 hours of treatment, and became fatigued. After her October remission, doctors said she wouldn't be able to bowl a tournament for another 2 months. Nevertheless, she pushed though the pain and began to practice again in November. In December 2019, Marisa won first place at her tournament out of 132 competitors.

Marisa made it through. With treatment, support, and charity, Marisa now has a bright future! With your donation, you can secure this future for all victims of childhood cancer!
