I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Trinity Day School 2020

When my daughter was in first grade, she came home from school one day in mid-March very excited. A group of boys and her teacher had all shaved their heads for a cancer fundraiser. She told me she wanted to do it too. I said, "sure!" and forgot about it. The next January, she told me again she wanted to do it so we signed her up. That February, we found out her dad had cancer. She braved the shave and it was a tremendously moving experience. She has been gung-ho about St. Baldrick's ever since, and she inspires me daily.

In our support group, we met families living with cancer in their lives, including pediatric cancers. The weight of the treatments on the child and family is such a heavy one, yet these families continue to move forward with hope and determination. I want to help ease some of the struggles by raising money for research to find new treatments and cures.

I'm going to Donate 8 inches of my hair this year with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids.

Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let’s #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
