I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Crispin was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on August 16, 2020, after several weeks of nonspecific symptoms that seemed to come and go. He began treatment immediately, and thanks be to Jesus, entered remission in September 15,2020 (most ALL kids go into remission within a month of starting chemo!).

However, 27 months more of daily chemotherapy are needed to ensure that the leukemia stays away. Crispin endured dozens of pokes, a month in the hospital, and hundreds of doses of chemo before taking his last pill on November 7, 2022!

Through it all we have been extraordinarily blessed by so many wonderful family members, friends, and supporters in the community. We can’t say enough good things about St. Thomas More Parish and Queen of Martyrs school in particular. They lifted us up through so many amazing donations of time, money, support, prayers, meals, and other material and spiritual goods. God has truly shown His love and providence through His people.

Crispin is now a cheerful and cuddly 4 year old who started Pre-K at QM in the fall. He loves parks, dogs, cars, french fries, and Lightning McQueen.

Although we’re thrilled that chemo has ended, we’re also anxious that the ALL may return. We ask for prayers of thanksgiving but also please pray that the cancer remains in remission as treatment ends. Please pray daily for all people with cancer and ask for God’s healing and protection. We ask especially for you to intercede through Blessed Carlos Acutis.
