I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research
I want to help my school, Georgetown School of Medicine, raise money for St. Baldrick's - an organization that does research to find cures and better treatments for kids. Research is expensive and the scientists working to find treatment options need the public's help especially with potentially pending cuts to organizations like the NIH (https://www.the-scientist.com/news-opinion/trump-proposes-significant-cuts-to-nih-for-2021-budget-67087).
I, Anika, looked into the organization to make sure they spend their money well. According to BBB they meet all the standards for charity accountability (http://www.give.org/charity-reviews/national/cancer/st-baldricks-foundation-in-monrovia-ca-2177). They also only spend 4.3% of their money on administration (https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=12540).

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.
