I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research
Over 25 years ago my friend since middle school, Jeff Hicks , passed away from Hodgkin’s disease. As a young teacher/coach I decided to run a leukemia society marathon in his honor. Part of that was letting my students shave my head. In recent years Jeff’s younger sister Whitney has battled cancer. Last month Whitney passed suddenly. My good friend Lynn Taylor has been shaving her head With Saint Baldricks in support of Whitney for the past 10 years. Now it’s my turn to join the fight. I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U. S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids. Now I need your support!
