I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and to help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids for the 13th straight year.
My extended family has been most fortunate to have healthy children. I hope yours has too. This is a way we can all help those who have not been as fortunate.
Cancer has, however, affected our family in many ways with older relatives and friends. As a child we lost my Aunt Evy, and several family friends of my parents. More recently it claimed my mother in law, Marie Bertone, Uncle "Big John" DeMayo, "Uncle" Morris Pugliese, my sister in laws in laws, Steve and Loretta Holdofsky, close childhood friends Kathlenn Graham Bobal and Richard Ferguson . Friend/ neighbor / boss Joe Zwaan, friend Chuck O'Reilly's wife Lais. Most recently it took my cousin Irene Rocco's husband , Pete, both of whom got me introduced to this amazing charity - St. Baldick's. It has also affected the lives of my sister Kathy, my brothers wife Evelyn , friend Kim DiTheodore and many others. I'm sure all reading this have a list as well.
As sad as these losses are, I see it as worse to have a child suffer this miserable disease. Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let’s defeat childhood cancers together. Thank you, and as always "May the Guinness be in us"!
