I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Sean Kelly

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Sean Kelly

9 years ago, I started hosting this event as a way to honor my brother Sean's memory and carry on his legacy. In 2012, I decided to host my 1st Team Sean Kelly head shaving event. We had 14 shavees and raised $14,157. Last year we shaved 49 heads and raised $51,800. The event has grown each year as more people are catching Sean's wave for this righteous cause! With your help over the past 8 years, Team Sean Kelly has raised over $330,000 for childhood cancer research, treatment, and cures. The cost to fund one year of pediatric cancer research is $100,000, and I am amazed to say that we have funded 3 years of research for pediatric cancer!

This year, I am shaving my head to stand in solidarity not only with kids battling cancer, but also for my friend Charles Harrington, and our family friend, Kyle Kubina. Charles lost his battle to cancer this past January and Kyle lost his battle to a Glioblastoma brain tumor last March. Both gone too soon. Charles was a volunteer and a shavee for Team Sean Kelly and this was his favorite event. I miss my friend.  Kyle was an experienced rock climber with no fear and an amazing sense of adventure and lust for life! His loss has been devastating for his family and friends. Both gone too soon, buy never forgotten.

Thank you for your support!

Here is some info on the Foundation. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers!

Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let’s #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
