I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

"Why? Are you sure?!

This is what everyone asks me when I say I am going to have my hair shaved for St. Baldrick's. "Couldn't you just give them some money and keep your hair?"

I have been thinking about this for a long time, since I attended a shaving event a couple of years ago.

I realized I have been so very lucky for no kid from my immediate or extended family had been touched by this disease, meanwhile so many others have not been so fortunate, and I thought it was time for me to do something about it.

So, in my mind the question became: Why not? Why not give up a small part of me and turn that into a big part of someone else’s life? My hair will become a wig for a child who needs it, and the money we raise will help fund much needed research.

And in doing so, perhaps inspire others to join, and push myself to find within a better person, since I will not have my long hair to hide any ugly side of me anymore. Also, do it while I can, before I must shave if I ever become a cancer patient myself.

Now my question for you is: "Why not make a donation?" Why not help fund a research that can give a child a better chance to grow up and be happy?

Every bit counts.

I would be honored if you would support me and donate to make a difference for the thousands of kids fighting childhood cancers now and in the future.
